The Secret to Success

The Secret to Success

To have success you have to be happy.  To be happy you have to understand yourself. Self-knowledge is imperative to success. It is necessary for the Transcendence of fear, and procrastination. We need self knowledge to transcend our dependency on the false perceptions that we use to delude ourselves. We don’t achieve success because what we imagine to be success isn’t really success. It is just our idea of success.  It is not real victory, or success in the ultimate sense. The reason we don’t achieve victory is because we are suffering from unconsciousness. We are suffering from a lack of understanding about our human condition, and what real success is. We don’t enjoy the benefits of having inside knowledge about our own condition. We are unconscious of the situation we are creating for ourselves, and why we are suffering. Self knowledge is the key to success because we are suffering from a lack of knowledge about ourselves. To enjoy ultimate success, we have to understand ourselves.  Once we know what we’re doing wrong, we can fix it. If we study, and consider our behavior, we can observe it in real time. Once we see it, then we can choose to change it. This kind of self-awareness is the bases of all forms of success. It is the time tested secret of all great masters and teachers. Self knowledge is the key to ultimate self mastery. The more that we understand about ourselves, the more everything will flow for us.

Reality Transcends the Mind

Reality Transcends the Mind

Scientific facts have revealed, and will continue to reveal, that the reality that we perceive is merely a construct of the mind, and not a genuine representation of the actual state of Reality. We may find more and more sophisticated ways of describing how this reality manifests, but they will only ever be approximations of Reality, not Reality itself. We will never be able to truly perceive, or describe the true nature of Reality because we are always looking at it from outside; we are always observing it from the point of view of being separate from it. Reality itself is un-qualified, it is beyond the qualities that can be observed from a limited angle. From our apparently separate viewpoint, we are not able to perceive the actual condition of Reality itself. Where we err is in our tendency to focus our attention on the separate qualities of Reality, rather than on the quality of Reality itself. We are concerned with how things work or how they appear, rather than on what they mean!

Understanding is not belief, as belief is a product of the mind. It is a convention of the human mind to try to know what is infinite and indivisible. The actuality of consciousness is beyond the limits of comprehension. The revelation of Reality comes through the transcendence of perception, memory and belief. Understanding is freedom from the constraints of metallization and ideology. The conventions of the mind are transcended through the understanding of the paradox of Reality.

Shadow and Light

Shadow and Light

In many religions death is associated with something dark, as many people since ancient times have associated it with something evil and unholy. Through Understanding, we realize that there is more to death than evil and darkness. In the East many people worship this destructive force as a God. This is because there is a more profound function to death than simply deprivation. Death is the force of change, it is the force of renewal. Like winter, death sweeps away the old to make way for the new; it is a positive part of process of transformation. Everything that occurs happens for a reason, the same force that is behind both good and the evil is the same force behind all the qualities of manifest existence. Cosmic forces conspire behind all events, both good and bad, in service to the Divine purpose. All conditional manifestations are servants to the greater process of Consciousness, and all qualities of life are simply expressions of our Divine nature. All of our successes and failures are simply momentary modifications of the ultimate nature of our divinity and infinite beingness. Without light, all would be darkness, without shadow, all would be desert.

The Law of Love (Divine Justice)

The Law of Love (Divine Justice)

Some of you may feel that life is unjust or that there is no Justice in life. In some sense this may be implied by the lack of apparent Justice in our society. Many may feel that the nature of our society is a reflection of the nature of life and that life is brutal. They may even doubt the existence of God because of the brutal nature of life on earth. We often get angry when we feel things are unjust, or that we have been done wrong; it has a sense of offensiveness to it, like you have been violated or something. Often people have their own sense of Justice. The ego usually has it’s own version of Justice in the world that it envisions. We have our own preferences, opinions and ideas about how Justice should be administered according to our limited viewpoint. Some may even feel that there is no law at all, and that man is forsaken.

Yes, mankind’s laws are often unjust, they generally do not appear to reflect the Universal Laws that govern our dimension. If you consider this matter more closely, you will find that all the manifest forces of existence are bound by Universal Laws. Divine Justice or the Divine law of Love is implemented through the Universal Laws. These laws are not controlled by any man, machine, or deity; they are de facto laws which underlie the mechanical processes of conditional existence. In other words, they just are. These Universal Laws are responsible for prioritizing the primary processes of manifest existence towards conscious evolution rather than towards bodily satisfaction. Conscious evolution through the purification of karma is the primary means by which God is realized for all human beings.

Karma is another word for action or deed. The implication of our actions or deeds determines our karmic destiny, as our lives are defined by the results of our past actions. As a result of our decisions, we have to face the actions of our past in the form of present conditions. In other words, everybody must face their karma in this life or the next. One cannot escape one’s karma, as one is ultimately forced to confront the truth of the existence that they have creating for themselves. Basically, you cannot escape the reality of your behavior; you can only avoid it temporarily. By avoiding reality we only create more karma for ourselves. This is the sense in which I would like to describe Divine Justice. This kind of Justice transcends the temporal rounds of materiality and bodily existence. To describe it simply, the more invested you are in materiality the more karma you accumulate, and the more unnecessary suffering you endure.

God is not to be confused with conditional forms; the more that you confuse your true nature with a false identity the more pain and suffering you will endure. Suffering from attachment to temporary forms of existence is the means by which the Divine Justice is implicated. When one forgets about his true nature he suffers. True prosperity or the blessings of God are not to be associated with bodily satisfaction. The way is about sacrifice through transcendence, this is why suffering is the great equalizer in the process of Divine Justice. The suffering that we experience is completely appropriate for our present state of growth, it is God’s will or it would not be this way. We suffer because we are attached to things that are not God. Consciousness is the priority of life, not bodily fulfillment. The Divine uses suffering as a tool to demonstrate this to us. “Existence is suffering,” as the Buddhist saying goes! This world is not meant to be turned into a paradise, it never was. This is the earth, not heaven! We are here to transcend our attachment to manifest conditions. The sacrifice of our separate self existence is an expression of the Divine law of Love; Love is realized through the transcendence of the appearance of separateness. The nature of Divine Justice is Love,  Love is the ultimate blessing of the Divine.

The Ego and Enlightenment

The Ego and Enlightenment

I am not here to tell you what you want to hear, there are many others who can tell you that. I am only here to tell you the truth. In my many years of study and contemplation I have come to understand that the way of esoteric revelation is an extremely profound process of initiation. One cannot read a few books and thereby become enlightened. There will never be a time were you will not have to do sadhana; there will never be a time were you will not be a devotee, as ultimate enlightenment requires one to be an exemplary devotee. There is no other way, as one must sacrifice themselves to God. If you are manifested bodily, you will have to do sadhana relative to your separate existence regardless of what spiritual experience you have. There is no experience of consciousness; the one who apparently experiences enlightenment is the illusory separate self. The experience of enlightenment is the illusion of the ego. Enlightenment transcends experience. In Truth, nobody exists to experience anything. Enlightenment is the inherent enjoyment of reality, the ego is not capable of this enjoyment! The ego cannot grasp the nature of reality, enlightenment is truly realized when the ego is transcended. This is why the guru is so important, for satsang with the guru is the means by which the ego is made irrelevant. Through the process of this satsang, happiness is increasingly enjoyed and understanding becomes more profound. The ego seeks to be gratified in it’s search for enlightenment, this is why it is not achieved by the one who is seeking it. One cannot do it on one’s own, as it is the ego that desires to achieve enlightenment by its own merit. In the enjoyment of satsang one transcends oneself. The true benefits of enlightenment are embraced through this realization.
