Transcending the Ego

Transcending the Ego

Once you have grasped the nature of ego your suffering will be obvious.  Examine your actions you will find that everything you do is rooted in suffering. Ego is the selfish motive! It is the driving force behind the entire spectrum of selfishness in our society. In the face of this ego the best thing you can do for yourself is to examine your behavior. That’s what sadhana in its early stages is, it’s a continual process of self observation. In general, self observation doesn’t come to an end once you’ve observed something about yourself, it only intensifies as you understand what you are observing more clearly. The more you observe this ego the more familiar you will become with it. Eventually, by Divine grace, you will come to have greater and greater insight into the nature of this ego; in this increasing insight there is profound intuition into the nature of Reality. This allows us to apply much more energy to the process of purification or transcendence. This is how the actual process of ego transcendence  works: the more you understand, the more you will transcend.

Nirvana is the Key

Nirvana is the Key

There is no belief that we can hold that would be an ultimate solution to our dissatisfaction with the present situation, as the only solution to our state of separateness is Nirvana. Idealistic solutions are only temporary fixes for our suffering, it is not an ultimate answer for our unhappiness. All form has a beginning and an end, all things change, as all things appear and disappear. The unqualified nature of Brahman, our native condition, transcends all forms of temporary manifestation. The belief that fulfillment can be achieved through the limits of temporal experience is a delusion, it is a myth that we use to console ourselves in our denial of our native condition. Happiness cannot be achieved through sentient reality, the sooner we accept this truth, the sooner we will be happy. When we embrace Nirvana, our happiness will no longer be dependent on temporary objects or experiences; it will be a Happiness that is based on an understanding that transcends limited conditions. With Nirvana comes the unqualified enjoyment of the realization of Brahman, the True Self. Nirvana is the key to the ultimate enjoyment of enlightenment.

The Way is Tapas

The quickest and easiest way to relief is not always best for our development. The best thing I can do for you is to get you to confront your difficulties. It may be tough now but if you confront your errs you will begin to enjoy more happiness. The way is tapas; it is a process of recognition and purification. When you are purified of the modalities that are causing your suffering you will be happy.  As Ralph Waldo Emerson says, “The best effect of fine persons is felt after we have left their presence.” Many will console you for profit, I am here to help you understand.

Love Liberates Us from Suffering

The Reason that we are suffering is because we don’t love; if we love we are happy. The purifying force of love liberates us from the things that make us unhappy. Where there is real love there is only Happiness.

The Way of Happiness

When we are happy we enjoy freedom from all modalities. Ultimately, it is our own identity which is the source of our suffering. True happiness is found through the transcendence of limitation, as witnessing the quality of our attachment to appearance is the key to our redemption.  When freedom is enjoyed, happiness is found to radiate from all conditions. This is the way of happiness.
